What We Provide: We provide SMS automation infrastructure that allows trades and service businesses to send transactional messages to their customers, including:

  • Post-service follow-ups

How It Works: Our business clients use our platform to communicate with their own customers. Messages are sent from the business name (e.g., “ABC Plumbing”), not from Rent a Website. We act as the technical infrastructure provider.

Data Controller Relationship: Our clients remain the data controllers for their customer information. We act as a data processor, providing technical infrastructure only.

Data We Process: As a technical service provider, we process on behalf of our clients:

  • Phone numbers of our client’s customers

  • Opt-out requests and suppression lists

Client Responsibilities: Our business clients are responsible for:

  • Obtaining appropriate consent from their customers
  • Posting communication policies on their websites (we provide a template)

Our Responsibilities: We are responsible for:

  • Providing secure, compliant infrastructure

Customer Opt-Out: End customers of our business clients can opt out by replying STOP to any message. Opt-out requests are processed immediately by our system. End customers can also contact us directly at info@rentawebsite.co.nz to request removal.

Data Retention: Customer contact data is processed on behalf of our business clients and retained only as long as necessary to provide services or as required by law. Upon request, we will delete information within 30 days.

What We Don’t Do:

  • Send unsolicited marketing messages

  • Send messages to people who haven’t contacted the business first
